Harwich Connexions Transport Co-operative Ltd was formed in March 2003 to provide affordable and accessible community transport for Harwich and its outlying villages.
Starting with just 2 buses the company has gone from strength to strength within the last 18 months and looks set to continue the trend. In our first year of operation we carried over 16,000 passengers from our membership.
Any group, organisation or individual who whishes to hire our vehicles must become a member of our co-operative, which for an annual fee of £2.00 for individual and £5.00 for organisations entitles them to use of all the vehicles either with a supplied driver or on a self drive basis.
We do not operate set bus routes and do not act as a dial a ride service. All of our work is pre booked by our members. The type of work we do covers everything from getting children to school, organised school outings, transporting elderly residents to lunch and activity clubs, sporting activities, shopping trips as well as organised group outings. We have seats available for babies and children from birth to 4 years, plus booster seats for older children if required.
All bookings are taken on a first come first served basis, but we will always try to accommodate any request.
We are a not for profit organisation which operates under Section 19 of the Transport Act and we rely soley on funding from external sources to continue this much valued and needed operation.
